Empowering Students Through True Robotics: A Hands-On STEM Workshop Experience

On Wednesday, June 6, 2024, excitement filled the air as True Robotics and the Blackstone Valley Hub for Workforce Development collaborated to offer an unforgettable hands-on STEM workshop. Twenty-five students, aged nine and up, participated in a 45-minute hands-on session. These youngsters delved into the exciting world of STEM by using real-world tools (like screwdrivers and wrenches) to build their robots.

With eager anticipation, students assembled their robots using our Pilot robot kits. Once their robots were complete, they enthusiastically navigated them with controllers, honing their driving skills. No workshop would be complete without a thrilling robot race.   The newly built Pilots lined up, as students prepared for an exhilarating race to see who would direct their robot across the finish line first.

To conclude the experience, students meticulously disassembled their robots, demonstrating their skills with real-world tools.  This hands-on activity reinforced the practical applications of what their learning. This pioneering workshop was a tremendous success, with all twenty-five registration slots filling up in less than 48 hours, showcasing the immense interest and excitement surrounding our program. Due to overwhelming demand, a second workshop has already been scheduled for Thursday, June 20. Don’t miss out!
